Shared Spectrum Company (SSC) is a pioneer in the development of innovative wireless signal spectrum sharing concepts. SSC is developing spectrum sharing technologies, system applications and prototypes. The technology enables frequency agile radios that dynamically share the spectrum on a non-interference basis with existing users. SSC develops innovative algorithms and hardware as enabling technologies for prototyping, testing, and demonstrating novel spectrum sharing.
SSC provides opportunities for emerging engineers to work alongside seasoned professionals and gain valuable experience while contributing to project success. Engineering interns contribute to embedded software development, system design and modeling, algorithm development, simulation and analysis, or lab/field testing. Potential tasks include developing and testing wireless system software, analyzing field test data using MATLAB, developing control programs (MATLAB or C++) for field test support equipment (wireless backhaul, GPS, telemetry systems, 5G, etc), and participating in field testing at locations in the Northern Virginia area.
