POSITION DESCRIPTION

Shared Spectrum Company (SSC) is a research and development firm with current federal government contracts to develop and demonstrate leading edge solutions to some of the most challenging technical and policy issues involving dynamic allocation and shared use of the communications spectrum. Our work includes research and development for the next generation of commercial and military wireless networking using innovative spectrum sharing capabilities over a variety of wireless technologies.

The person in this position is a senior member of the management team that oversees multiple projects related to wireless technology development. The projects include software development, digital hardware development and RF hardware development. The primary areas of responsibility are to manage, mentor and assist individual engineers and to successfully develop the state-of-art wireless system

Education and Experience Requirements

The qualified individual will be an organized thinker with good problem solving skills and will have a proven record of success in delivering complex system products to the federal government, including DoD or DARPA customers, or commercial entities and experience in the following:

  • Software development
  • High C/C++ software skills
  • Software testing and verification
  • Hardware development
  • DSP/FPGA experience
  • Commercial wireless, local area networking, networking algorithm design, modem design
  • BSEE or equivalent experience required, MS or PhD a plus
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to make technical presentations
  • Secret level security clearance a plus

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the execution of multiple projects
  • Direct oversight of 10-20 engineers
