Senior Software Engineer

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Perform as a senior member of a software team developing the next generation of both commercial and military wireless networking: an advanced mobile ad hoc wireless network built upon innovative spectrum sharing methodologies capable of transparently underlying a wide variety of wireless technologies including 802.11 and 802.16. Participate in the entire software product life cycle. Provide technical oversight of more junior team members, subcontractors, and/or vendors.

Responsibilities

  • » Responsible for the analysis, design, development, debugging, and technical documentation of an innovative spectrum access system
  • » Interact with internal and external engineering teams on a regular basis to design and create interfaces with other system elements
  • » Participate in both internal and external technical reviews

Experience Requirements

  • » 5-10+ years of related experience as a Senior Software Engineer in wireless distributed systems
  • » Extensive experience in developing and supporting real-time Linux-based embedded systems
  • » Experience in design, development, management, and control of mobile ad-hoc networks and multi-hop wireless networks
  • » Extensive experience in wireless networking standards and protocols including 802.11, 802.16, and/or 802.22
  • » Proficiency in C, C++, and Assembly
  • » Proficiency in MATLAB, ns-2, OPNET, or QualNet
  • » Strong verbal and written communication skills

Education and Other Qualifications

  • » BSCS or equivalent experience required, MS preferred
  • » US Citizenship is required
  • » DoD SECRET clearance a plus
