Vienna, VA, March 10, 2010 – Shared Spectrum Company (SSC) along with our partner and subcontractor, Echo Ridge LLC “Echo Ridge” has received a Phase II SBIR contract from the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) at Wright Patterson AFB to continue developing cognitive radio technology for Air Force applications.
SSC and Echo Ridge are leading small business researchers in the growing field of cognitive radio. SSC has developed industry leading dynamic spectrum access software technology for wireless devices and military radios. SSC will expand its existing expertise in the field to conduct innovative research in the field of cognitive radio for air and ground applications. Echo Ridge will contribute technology in the areas of non-contiguous spectrum waveform design and signal processing for radar applications, and a virtual RF environment emulation research and test bed.
SSC has developed, manufactured and field tested policy-based DSA radio hardware and software for military applications under the neXt Generation Communications (XG) program funded by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).
